I’ve been trying to step out of my comfort zone recently and use some “different” colours to my usual “Subtles” creations and what better way, than to take part in a colour challenge. I’ve never made the effort to join in over at the Global Design Project but love seeing the creations that arise from the challenges, so thought I would give it a go this week.
Look how sweet this combo is, some beautiful colours that I was excited to pull out and get creative with!
Here’s what I came up with…..
I love how fresh these colours and and how great they work together. I love Fresh Freesia, it’s one of our new In Colours and works great with Blackberry Bliss.
I stamped using the Sweet as a Peach stamp set and the co-ordinating dies to cut out the images. I’ve been using this set so much during June as it’s one of my “focus” bundles so thought I would share some more inspiration using it.
I stamped the large leaf image in Pear Pizzazz then cut it out using the dies, but instead of adhering straight down and attaching my flowers, I cut the leaf image into three separate pieces. I arranged them in a cluster and popped the flowers in the centre to hide the gaps, finishing with the teeny tiny flowers in Fresh Freesia from the die set.
The Designer Series Paper is from the In Colour Collection, such a usable set of papers in 6×6 that have the sweetest patterns on.
I added a greeting using the Biggest Wish stamps. These are great for lots of occasions and are a great staple “greeting” set that you will pull out regularly. Such great value at just £16.00!
I used the Checks and Dots embossing folder for the left side of my card, just to add a little texture as I wanted to keep some “white space” on my card to make the flowers and leaves pop out from the colours behind it.
I’ve loved joining in with this Colour Challenge and look forward to see what’s coming next Monday for a new week at the Global Design Project.
