I’ve been wanting to use Misty Moonlight ink with the Tidings of Christmas DSP since they arrived, but also not with Christmas images! It’s a colour that’s included in the papers, but a very small amount and only on one of the designs.
I decided to create a couple of projects and go live in my Facebook page last Saturday morning and I have to say I was really pleased with how the projects turned out.
My colour combo is Misty Moonlight | Sahara Sand | Soft Succulent | Evening Evergreen
So I inked up the large leaf cluster from the Sweet as a Peach stamps in Soft Succulent three times and cut out just part of it so that I could create a kind of continual run of leaves at the top of my card. My flowers are also from the same stamp set, I absolutely love these flowers and the fact that three flowers are on one stamp PLUS the co-ordination Peach Dies cut all three flowers out in one go.
I used the Bark embossing folder on my white layer and I love this effect, as if the leaves and flowers are hanging down a white washed wall!
The greeting is from the Biggest Wish stamps, a favourite with lots of you and top selling set right now! I inked the HAPPY word in Misty Moonlight then individually cut each letter out, not too tricky at all, then the BIRTHDAY was stamped in Soft Succulent which I also trimmed out. My scallop border under the DSP is cut with one of the scallop rectangle dies from the Stitched So Sweetly set.
The Designer Series Paper does not jump out to me as “Christmassy” but when the season begins I am sure to create projects that make this paper look very festive! This is the darkest sheet in the pack and I thought I would have difficulty using it because of this, but totally the opposite, I love how it looks in small strips. If you switched out the flowers for more leaves or trees, this would make a lovely masculine design!
