I love when a stamp set is themed for something particular, but when you begin using it, you see other uses for it. I have owned a few Christmas stamp sets in the past that I’ve managed to use for everyday projects and I hadn’t seen the full potential of the Yuletide Village set until a customer coloured in the sweet houses with some colours that I’d not chosen, she then had the genius idea of using the brick wall stamp as tiles for the roof! I loved what she created and asked her permission to use her ideas.
So I kept to very similar colours that she used, but think that she used the Bronze Blends pen for the lighter colour house on the left, I must ask her when I remember!
For my live this week I set out to design a couple of projects using the houses for everyday cards and I really like how they turned out.
I used one of the pens from the Medium Light & Medium Deep combo pack, along with Light & Dark Crumb Cake, Light Smoky Slate and Old Olive to colour my houses and tree.
I layered my houses onto a die cut circle from the Spotlight on Nature die set. The sweet little tree hides the snowman behind it!
The foliage was die cut from the Sophisticated Sled set and the sweetest little flowers from the Classic Wedding set. For the flower centres I colours our Basic Rhinestones with a gold sharpie pen.
My “Welcome” greeting was inked in Crumb Cake, from the set called Warm Welcome, this one is now reduced to just £8.80 on our Last Chance list of products.
Here it is, such a sweet set of stamps that you would find many uses for…..
This lovely set of stamps will be leaving our inventory shortly, it’s just £18 and one that will stay in my archives for some time as I just love it so much. If you’ve not created with it yet, pop it in your shopping basket, you can use it all year round then pull it back out next year and get crafting for Christmas ahead of the game!
