I recently needed a card and gift for a beautiful friend and although I have a Studio with more cards than I will ever need, I knew I wanted to create something “blue” for this occasion.
I pulled out Misty Moonlight and Boho Blue, two blues that I love working with. I wanted my card to be crisp, white and fresh and I think I achieved that.
I used one of the Fun Patterns embossing folders, these are great and fit into our Mini die cutting machine, they come as a pair and both are great patterns that can be used for all occasions.
I chose a NEW set to me called “Everyday Greetings”. This is a fabulous set containing a wide range of sentiments that mix and match with each other. You can find this one in the Online Exclusives section of my online shop.
My scalloped oval stitched frames were cut from the Unbounded Love set and then I pulled out the Changing Leaves dies for the long oval to house my “birthday” greeting. The intricate leaf die cut is also from the same set.
The flowers are ones that I go to regularly as they work so well with lots of occasions, these are from the Country Birdhouse die set.
The ribbon I’ve used is retired, but we have another which is very similar, it’s called Wide Vanilla Check and it hadn’t arrived in time for me to use on this card and it was something I really wanted to add as one of the gifts had this check pattern on too.
I finished off my die cut flowers with the Tinsel Gems Three Pack. This pack contains three colours of gorgeous gems, one being Misty Moonlight, which worked perfectly.
I decided to house my card inside a Glassine envelope. I chose a similar theme as my card, keeping it sweet but simple.
