Did you know that each month, in my Stamping Community Group over on Facebook, I set a Challenge and send out a gift to the randomly picked winning entry?
As a creative, I work a lot from a sketch, that I have previously hand drawn ahead of my design time. I find this way of creating saves me so much time as when I sit down to begin, I already have a head start as to what I am doing.
Here is my January Challenge Sketch. This month there is a little added extra as I’ve thrown in a “fun fold” to the sketch!
Here it is:
If you would like to take part in this Challenge, why not join my Community Group, it’s open to anyone, anywhere in the world and is there to inspire and bring people who love to stamp together!
I recently popped up live in the group to share how I created a version of my sketch below.

Here’s the card I created…..
I used a colour combination of Fresh Freesia, Petunia Pop with some Soft Sea Foam for the foliage then Old Olive for the die cut mini leaves.
My greeting is from a FREE gift from Stampin’ Up! when you join the Community, it’s called Handmade Designs and I recently uploaded a video to my YouTube Channel where I stamped live and created a card using it, I will share the link to join my group below.
When you join my Team during January & February, you have two additional add on’s to choose from alongside the already amazing Starter Kit offer. You can see the Handmade Designs stamps below, it’s such a lovely set that isn’t available, it’s exclusive to the offer. It’s crying out for some colouring in of those lined images, something I love to do!
As I mentioned, my sketch contained a “fun fold” element, a pretty simple one but one that can be easily created for beginner crafters. There isn’t any “folding” involved, so maybe I shouldn’t call it a fun fold, ha ha. I’ve taken out the top section of the front of the card to add a little interest then the addition of the circle die cut brings it together.
I’ve left my sketch challenge open with the option to use the “fun fold” part if you choose, but not necessary.
My patterned papers are the lovely FREE Toadstool Gardens pack from our Sale-a-Bration offering, the colours have been so inspiring for me… you can earn this pack as a FREE gift option when you spend £55 during the promotion. Check out the Online Brochure as there are lots of other gorgeous products to choose from.
The papers have splashes of Melon Mambo included, but I’ve teamed my Fresh Freesia with some Petunia Pop which I find a little less bright compared to Melon Mambo and it seems to team in fine. Don’t get hung up on colour matching, complimentary shades often work well.
You can see a re-creation of this card if you join my Stamping Community Group, it’s the same design and “fun fold” but I used different products to share a new design:
