Since purchasing the Changing Leaves bundle, I’ve found it really hard to put it to one side. I have found so many different uses for it from female cards, masculine, anniversary and sadly I had to create a card for the loss of a dear friend. It’s this card that I wanted to share as I had received a few questions and lots of love for it.
I began by taking a piece of Basic White cardstock, cutting it to 8 1/4″ x 5 3/4″ and folding it in half. Next I stamped the large leaf image in Pecan Pie ink, then cut it out using the co-ordinating die. My first layer of cardstock going on the card is Basic White, which I embossed using the Changing Leaves hybrid embossing folder. It’s such a simple design, leaf veins, but so gorgeous!
With my embossed layer, I adhered the stamped Pecan Pie leaf sprig over the top of the same leaf shape, I plan to go live with this creation in my Stamping Community Group to explain this better, sometimes it’s just easier to show rather than explain! On top of my embossed layer I added a piece of vellum, cut to exactly the same size. On this piece of vellum I added a strip of Basic White cardstock on which I stamped my greeting in Pecan Pie ink. Because vellum is quite transparent, I was careful where I added my adhesive as it would show through so I popped my Tombow glue behind this white strip and a tiny bit on the top and bottom corners, just to anchor it.
I added a white leaf that I die cut from the die set, this is just so adorable, so pretty yet delicate, perfect for my card.
I finished with some gems to add a delicate texture to my cards, these particular ones are coming in the September/December mini catalogue.
I was really pleased with the finished result, it was clean, simple yet classic.
