With our upcoming release of the 2022/23 Annual Catalogue, we have a brand new set of In Colours to create with. I’m rather nervous about a couple of them, they are quite bright for my usual colour choice but I will do my best to use them, in small doses!

- Parakeet Party
- Sweet Sorbet
My definite favourites are Orchid Oasis, Starry Sky and Tahitian Tide, followed by Sweet Sorbet and finally Parakeet Party, I just find this last one super bright! Of course there will be many of you crafters who will wallow in these bright colours and I look forward to seeing your creations!
This week during my Facebook Live I created a couple of cards using a colour combination I put together and I was really pleased with the results…….

I used a brand new Sneak Peak stamp set called “Cup of Tea” and combined it with the Cactus Cuties set from the Mini Catalogue. Not a tea cup in sight though for these!
I used the flowers, foliage and greeting stamps from the “Cup of Tea” set then pulled out a couple of plant pots from the “Cactus Cuties” set.
I’m a great one for trying to find alternative ways of using stamps in a set, this increases the usability of them also offering you better value and more versatility. It’s easy to pick up a stamp set and be drawn to the main larger stamps, the ones that jump right out at you, but it’s often the little ones that are included that stretch your possibilities.
As I didn’t have any Starry Sky (the dark blue) cardstock, I pulled out some Night of Navy and it teamed very well, slight different shade to the Starry Sky flowers and plant pot but not over noticeable.
I enjoyed creating a stamped background with the flower and small leaf stamps, quite effective.
I’ve been using the “Beautiful Shapes” dies to their full potential of late, I love the Hexagon dies but the Circles are equally great for layering behind images and also good for your greetings.
I love how fresh these colours look together and I’m excited to share more projects with them soon!
I am hosting a Catalogue Launch Tea Party in my Studio on 14th May, sadly it is fully booked but I am offering Kits in the post with the option to attend a Zoom Class where we stamp together and complete the cards. Of course you won’t receive any stamped images and will need to use stamps you have to hand but I am permitted to include die cut pieces and embossed layers.
