Last week I took part in the Global Design Project #297 which was a Colour Challenge and to my pleasant surprise my entry was a Winner! Such a lovely feeling! Here it is:
Each Monday a new challenge is set and this week it’s a Sketch Challenge. If you’ve listened in on my “lives” I’m sure you will have heard me talk about how I create my own sketches for all of my projects. I find that my cards come together so much faster using a sketch.
Here is the sketch for this weeks GDP298 Challenge:
As I sat designing for my Facebook Live I decided to use the GDP#298 Sketch for one of my cards to share.
Here it is!!
In July I will be focussing on the Tidings & Trimmings bundle so thought I would get ahead of myself and create some projects for my “live” using it. For July I don’t plan to create anything with a Christmas theme using this bundle, but to show that it can actually be quite a versatile set!
I teamed the stamps with two flower images from the Hand Penned Petals stamps and created a colour combination of:
- Pale Papaya
- Soft Succulent
- Evening Evergreen
- Sahara Sand
I used some the of Tidings of Christmas Designer Series Paper, lots of the prints are definitely usable for much more than Christmas projects as you will hopefully agree with my projects!
I think that lots of the images in the Tidings & Trimmings stamp set are very versatile. The leafy images will work on lots of your crafty projects and as you can see from my card, I have adapted a couple the greetings to make them non festive! I love the little Bow stamp and there is a die that cuts these out.
The Christmas Trimmings dies have a few stand alone dies that work independently to the stamps. A couple of leafy sprigs, some decorative stars that cut intricately and a lovely large star shape that will be super useful. There is even a tiny star die that would be great for filling white space.
I particularly love the the die that has the little “dots in a row”, it cuts out six tiny dots that I’ve used for the centres of my flowers, I am guessing their true purpose is for Mistletoe or Holly berries but they are quite small. Another items that is great for filling “white space” too.
