Hello and welcome to my Tuesday share, a lovely Sled Christmas one for you today. It looks pretty complete but honestly when you break it down step by step, it’s more than achievable. Building the Sled using the dies is pretty easy, it’s just two dies that you cut and put together. I’ve used Crumb Cake cardstock for the wooden texture pieces then Early Espresso cardstock for the wooden base. It’s such a clever combination of dies and I love the finished result.
This card, as you will see, has very little stamping involved. The dies are fabulous, if you’ve seen my previous posts you will see how I’ve used them to create some alternative projects.
I particularly love the Ice Skate dies, the laces are a single die that when cut, pop into a slit created inside the skate boot when it’s cut out, so clever! The Crumb Cake blade part of the boot is also a separate die which cuts both at one time.
Here’s a closer look…..
My embossed layer is created using the Birch Wood folder, it’s a new one that you can find in the September/December mini catalogue. I partially embossed my basic white layer with the folder, leaving the lower part clear, then once embossed I popped it on my Simply Scored tool and scored a couple of lines where the embossing ended. I often do this for a different look.
The foliage is also a die from the same set, here I cut it out in Garden Green cardstock to match the patterned paper I was using. The berries came from a hole punch I had that retired many years ago, but we do have some Adhesive Backed Berries that are in the new mini catalogue, they would look lovely in place of my cardstock ones! I just didn’t have any at the time of creating this card.
I love the finished card, plenty of white space which is definitely my style, but please do remember that if you plan to re-create it, you can switch out my white layers for other colours.
I have a couple of Classes this month and next using the Sophisticated Sled bundle, so please do be sure to stop by again soon, my Blog posts go up Tuesday’s and Friday’s and I post regularly on Instagram and my Facebook page.
