I have been working my way through some new stamp sets that had never touched ink and the Flowing Flowers were next on my list!
Oh how pretty the images are in this set, love that there are sentiments included too alongside the three floral stamps.
I chose a soft colour palette, nothing new there really ha ha, but wanted my cards to look soft and delicate. I teamed Petal Pink with Crumb Cake and added my greetings in Soft Suede for a stronger influence.
If you follow me, you will know that I have been focussing on the “Beautiful Shapes” die set. It’s one I gravitate to regularly, the hexagons are just so usable and I have found use for them on so many things I have been creating.
I chose to stamp the large individual flower onto Basic White cardstock and fussy cut it out, layering the petals by stamping twice and cutting one smaller to sit on top of the other.
I embossed the Crumb Cake layer using the Timber Embossing Folder, I love the woodgrain effect which works well for both female and masculine projects.
I pulled out my Bough Punch for some extra foliage to add to my flowers and tried different ways of “colouring” the white cardstock using my Blending Brush and also the large flower stamp itself, which worked really well!
I love the “Just a Note” sentiment, it works well for lots of occasions but there are some other great ones in this set.
I used my Kraft White Ink to stamp onto Soft Suede cardstock, to allow my sentiment to “pop” a little from the white space of the card. This would have looked great if it was heat embossed with White Embossing Powder. For both cards I added some Polished Dots embellishments, sadly these are retiring but currently still available to order at the time of typing this post!
The “splats” were created by squeezing my Crumb Cake ink pad, adding a drop of water then using a Watercolour Painter to tap splats onto my white layers.
Imagine how these cards would look with a very bright colour palette!
